Anderson, under contract with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, developed plans and specifications for replacement of the Tainter gate operating machinery at Upper Saint Anthony Falls lock and dam.
Anderson’s design included a new mechanical lifting system for the gate to replace the existing hydraulic cylinder operating system. The replacement design called for synchronized mechanical hoist units on each side of the Tainter gate. Design included a new Programmable Logic Control (PLC) based system for the new hoist drives.
Anderson’s team provided design documents for rehabilitation of the Tainter gate, replacement of the mechanical lifting mechanism and new mechanical room buildings. Full construction period services were provided.
Since 1989 Anderson Engineering of Minnesota, LLC has been helping developers, land owners, design firms, and all levels of government take their projects from concept to completion.
